ABCD - Will You Take Part?

Maybe you would like to join in with this.....

A Bloggers Centerline Day, or ABCD, will take place on Sunday 1st May 2011.

The plan is to inspire as many bloggers as possible to go outside and take a photograph of themselves on this day, wherever they are in the world. The photo can be creative, arty, contain more than one person, be in any type of location and can contain anything else you like. It must however contain the centerline of a road and at least part of you, the blogger.

There are 5 rules....

Rule 1 - the picture must be taken on 1st May 2011.

Rule 2 - the picture must be of yourself, and you must be a person that publishes a blog. You can include whatever else you like in the picture, including other people if you wish.

Rule 3 - the picture must include the centerline of a road.

Rule 4 – you should publish the picture on your blog on 1st May 2011, along with a few words about the picture and why you chose that location or pose.

Rule 5 - when you have posted the picture on your own blog, put a comment on http://garysusatour.blogspot.com/2011/04/abcd-will-you-take-part.html and include in that comment the address of your own blog post containing your own picture. 

Gary France will then pick his favourite photos and publish these as being the winners. There will be a prize of $100 awarded to the overall single winner, as chosen by Gary.

In order to get this event known as widely as possible, please copy and paste this posting onto your own blog, including the title. Please do that today!

As a reminder to yourself to take the photo and post it, put an entry into your diary for 1st May 2011.

Let’s see if we can get as any people to join in as possible.

    This is very similar to a book I have with photographs from all over the world all taken at the same time and date, only thing is we have so much traffic the next photo would be a red ink spot

    Great idea. Now all I have to do is find a road less travelled, but that has a centre line (a lot of them around here don't - may have to paint it myself.)

    Fabulous idea! I don't ride a bike or have a blog, but I am looking forward to seeing all those wonderful pictures and hearing the stories behind them. If you have room, please post where all are located, since you indicated you would just post your favorites. If you need help in a tiebreaker, I would be happy to give my impartial opinion. Thanks for giving us something to look forward to again.

    Lady R – It was fun seeing the same title appearing on so many blogs on the panel of blogs I read. I don’t know about a tidal wave, but it will be fun to see what pictures people take – if there are twenty entries, I will be happy.

    Lizzie – One of the great things about doing this competition is that I get to hear from other bloggers near to me with similar interests. Many of my readers are in the USA and it is good to hear from one more local.

    Chris – I was wondering what you might do. It is a shame the Ural wasn’t there and I am a bit surprised the Stig didn’t pull a few strings to make sure it was available!

    Lizzie – Very clever and creative picture! I am glad you didn’t do the same as me!

    Steve – I like your main picture with the yellow in your jacket reflecting the yellow in the centreline. The boots shot is very good also.

    Good morning from the UK. I would like to thank everyone that has submitted pictures for the ABCD photo competition. It has been a great deal of fun looking at the pictures and I thought I would let you know what I am doing with them.

    To make it easier for everyone to see all of the pictures in one place, I am copying them, plus a link back to the original blog owners posting into one new post on my blog. This is taking some time and yesterday I got about half way through it. I am resuming it this morning.

    From what I have seen so far, there is a wide and varied range of photos and it has been fun to see what styles and locations have been selected.

    I did say in the rules that the pictures must be published on your blog on 1st May, but I didn’t take into account the different time zones, so as long as it is on your own blog when it is still 1st May somewhere in the world, then it counts!

    Look out for the posting on my blog of all the entries, and the selected winner soon!

    mq01 – great photos from a great ride. I have ridden Old Priest Grade and wow, what a road! I have selected the picture in the mirror to include in the post I am doing showing one picture from everyone – I hope that is ok!

    Pat – I don’t know much about Molly Stark or her house, but now that you used it for your ABCD photo, I will read about her. Thanks for the photo!

    Linda – Thanks for the photo of your foot in Nevada. If I ever get to travel on Interstate 80, I will think of you reaching to get your foot in the picture.

    Queen of Zoom – I am glad that you managed to submit a picture from your road trip. I hope the weather improves for you.

    Tucson Bonnie – You found a fantastic setting for your picture. What stunning scenery and a great bike too!

    Troubadour – I really enjoyed your picture and especially the comment about cagers not understanding bikers – priceless!

    charlie6 – I thought your picture would be from the mountains somewhere. I don’t think you look (too) much like a motorcycle cop in your picture.

    4T8Harley – Thanks for the very creative picture with a good lean angle. Watch out though, there are a couple of ghosts right behind you!

    Brooke – It is absolutely okay you were in an RV! Sedona is a fantastic place that I was lucky enough to visit last year. Enjoy the grand Canyon, it is amazing! Thanks for the great picture.
