Ride Out at St Tropez, Day 3 (Saturday)

Today was Ride Out day. The Chelsea and Fulham HOG Chapter that I am a member of met at a villa on the outskirts of St Tropez and rode a 50 mile ride that took a couple of hours. The weather stayed fine, thankfully without the rain that had plagued a lot of riders on their way down to the South of France.

We ran south west along some twisty mountain roads before hitting the coast and heading back towards St Tropez. We stopped for a very good lunch on the beach at the Restaurant Plage Les Bronzes before making our way back to St Tropez.

The photos and video below show the Chapter Members meeting for breakfast, the ride itself and then lunch afterwards.

Here is the video of the ride....

And here are the pictures from the post ride lunch....

The weather looks warm and inviting, perhaps too warm with all that black attire. To be away with friends and riding, that's the good life. The excellent seaside location is just the icing.

only a short 1 month before you step foot in North America. I can see a busy few weeks getting things sorted out for your next BIG ride.

Oh, Bring Ian with you . . .

Ian – There is plenty of you! Probably more than anybody and you are even on the preview still. I had to cut a lot of film of you out to show just a little bit of the others!

Bob – It wasn’t too warm, but I think all that black would be little uncomfortable in the middle of the summer. It was a fantastic few days in a great location. I am already planning going to next years festival. A busy few weeks is right enough! Mrs F and I are in Spain at the moment and in a couple of week’s time we go to Thailand for 10 days – I feel there will only just be time to pack for the USA….. Bring Ian with me? No way – he would want to be in every photo, every piece of film….

That's pretty cool Gary! I really like the video. Did you get that camera mount that was on that video I had? Very nice!

Hi Mike - Yes, I did get that mount and it is fantastic - so flexible and quick to mount - it can go in so many different positions and angles. I liked it so much I bought another so I can do front and rear facing shots at the same time. Downside is that I had to but another camera! I couldn't remember which blog I had seen the video on and of course it was yours, so thanks very much for including it on your blog.

I am impressed with the video quality...very clear and not choppy at all (Both front and rear face video shots are great and the sound is just right for the entire duration of the film. Well done indeed

Baron - Thanks. Many years ago I tried making some videos and hated the quality and gave up, so I dipped my toe back into this with some caution. I too was impressed with the quality that can be achieved these days. It was good fun but a huge increase in editing to have the two cameras and to get them in sync so that the video seemed to flow from one camera to the other. Good fun though.
