We all have a road somewhere in the world that we would like to ride one day. Here is mine, the Tianmen Mountain road, located within Tianmen Mountain National Park, Zhangjiajie, in northwestern Hunan Province, China. What a road! Enjoy the pictures and if you are like me, you will need to close your mouth as you look at them......

I recall hearing several years ago, that the guy who owns/runs the Harley dealership in Beijing leads a group ride along this road.
I have a new "Dream Destination"!! Wooooowwwww!! A year ago I would have said, "I could never do that." Now I say, "I can't wait to do that!" Thanks to Steve and 20,000 miles this last year, amazing growth in my confidence and abilities. Smooches, Sash SashMouth
Bob – No, I suspect it is two way. It looks like a huge amount of fun to me and yes, the guard rails don’t look as if they would stop a motorcycle rider from going over them, but that wouldn’t stop me riding the road.
Tina – Good for you girl! It is amazing that you have just got on and done such an incredible journey. I am glad that change in attitude has happened, for that is what living life to the full is all about.
Curt – I agree, you have to aim to do things like ride this road one day. Having a passion for something is terrific, but even better is making it happen.
UPDATE - A friend of mine here in the UK has gone as far to find out where this road is and where we can rent motorcycles nearby. He is serious about jumping on a plane and going to ride it. Being a sensible, practical, realistic sort of guy, I have thought long and hard about what to do. Maybe, just maybe.....
This blog was originally started to record a five month, 21000 mile tour of the US on my Harley-Davidson. I continue to use this blog to record my own motorcycling adventures, wherever they may be, along with my thoughts and opinions about motorcycling generally.
Having devoted most of my adult life to being a ‘company man’, the transition to the next phase of my life away from the construction industry was always going to include some challenges. Planning and then making my dream trip to explore America on my Harley-Davidson proved to be the ideal vehicle for clearing my mind of old ways of thinking and being. I rode 21,475 miles, in 27 US states in four-and-a-half months.
My motorcycling trips have continued, with journeys across much of Europe, New Zealand, North Africa and Cuba.
A few years ago, I set up and now run Tour1, which takes riders on Harley-Davidson Authorised tours across Europe. See www.tour1.co.uk.
I live just north of London in the UK.
A 2006 Road King called 'The Leading Ladies' due to the portraits of ten 1940's and 1950's actresses painted on the bike. This is the motorcycle I use to ride through America on.
My Custom Harley 'Tradewinds'
Called 'Tradewinds' this bike has a H-D engine but almost everything else is custom, made specifically for the bike.
My Custom Harley 'Amelia'
Built in 2012, this is a seventies style traditional chopper, with considerable engraving and a tremendous paint scheme

US Tour - My Favourites Places I Went To....
It is difficult to choose, but here is my list of the highlights of my US tour, in the order I saw them in....
31. Back roads and small towns anywhere.
32. Meeting really nice people, in just about all of the places I have been.
33. The camaraderie of bikers. Everywhere, US.

Wow, that would be quite a ride!
Steve, I'll get my coat.....
Charlie6 - Sooner rather than later I hope.
B.B. - It would be difficult not to smile riding this road! Flies in your teeth for sure!!
Gary:
Those guardrails look really flimsy. I don't know, looks too scarey for me
perhaps it is only one way at a time until they change lane direction

mq01 - I would so love to lead a tour to that road! How can you read my mind from that far away?

Wooley – Hairy and Scary, but that wouldn’t stop many from riding it.
