Cool Old BMW

BMW lovers may know what this bike is. I saw it this morning here in Spain. It says 1968 on the licence plate.

All I know is, it looks very cool and is in great condition....

Charlie6 / Dom – There were a few people I thought would especially like this. You were one of them.

Sonja – Art indeed.

Webster – That would be really cool.

Trobairitz – I wondered if the bike rider had arrived and gone to sea on his yacht. The bike was there most of the day, so maybe.

I think I would be real tempted to wait around for the owner to show up and then try and start up a conversation. What a beautiful bike!

That's really nice Gary. Somewhere, I have a BMW book and I think there's an identical rig in it. I presume that white must be a standard colour, not just a modern respray.

Dear Sir:

My friend Todd T. owns the exact same machine, in this same color, with the same sidecar. He takes it out on the roads two or three times a year, on special antique runs. Off in Spain again, eh?

Fondest regards,

Jimbo – I did go back passed where the bike was parked a few times, just to see if the owner was around. No luck I am afraid.

Geoff – I have seen this colour before on this bike and so it must have been standard. There is something very appealing about white bikes.

Jack – Your friend Todd is a lucky guy as that is quite a machine. It must be a joy to own a bike as old as that. Spain, yes – we have a house here, so we are often here and while the weather in the UK is its normal grey condition, it is great to fly here (just 2.5 hours) and enjoy its glorious sunshine.
