My New Motorcycling Website!

Today, my new motorcycling website www.garysfrance.com was launched.

Containing information about different aspects of motorcycling, the site has sections about my forthcoming book, touring guides, my videos, a competition (win the latest GoPro camera), a bit about me, reviews of motorcycling books, other people videos I like, plus a whole load more.

I hope you find just a little bit of time to go take a peek.

You put a lot of work into your new website. Looks great!

Can't wait to get my hands (and eyes) on your book.

helmetorheels – Thank you!

Charlie6 / Dom – The book won’t be launched until 4th March, but I am anticipating some people might get an early copy in the post ....

Charlie6 – I really know nothing about feeds apart from the fact my wife does that to me most evenings. I will look into it.

Rex – Glad you like it.

Trobairitz – Thanks for the thumbs up. I am glad you said it was easy to navigate, as that was objective number one. Sometimes websites are just so complex, they just fry your mind for a while.

Canajun – It certainly took a long time. I wanted something really simple, but even that took a long time. Actually creating it is relatively quick (if you have a good website friend like I do), but thinking about what you want on there and then writing the content, takes three times longer that you think!

Thomas – Thanks, I am relived it is easy to use. Phew!

mq01 – Thank you!

No Name – The blog will definitely stay. The website will be used to show things and my blog will be used for me to express my opinions. That is the plan, at least.

Sonja – Thank you. A copy will be winging its way to you as soon as it is ready.

BTW, the good friend who made the website happen is the creative genius called Paul Leeson, of Redboat Design. http://www.redboatdesign.com/

Agree with Trobaritz. Good looking and easy to navigate. I've seen more sites going to that type of dynamic layout.

Love the book cover!!!

Alright, good job I say. Now let me have a look see further in.

So I have to have a camera to win the camera, hmmm. Since I've been planning on doing a ride vid for some time - and told a friend just that a month ago I plan on getting a camera to do just that - now I will have a place to put it. I currently have two cameras, neither of which can go on the bike easy. One is huge like filming for news crews and the other is a sorta palm camera. Come on Christmas so I can mount and go. Yeehaw.

Sounds like the book is coming along nicely. Can't wait to read it!

Those are what motorcycle enthusiasts are looking for on a website, Gary. Personally, among those categories, the section of "Free Motorcycle tourist guides" would be the one with the most number of clicks in the long run. Congratulations on your new website, by the way. :)

BeemerGirl – Being easy to navigate was a must for me. I see so many sites whose main feature is confusing, which is about as useful as using a tire lever as a dining fork. Glad you like the book cover.

WooleyBugger – Good point about the camera. I hadn’t thought of that, but let’s look at it this way – Win a better GoPro camera! I found that mounting the camera was the least of my problems – finding the time to edit the videos is the real killer.

biker baby – Yep, progress is being made!

Darcy – Thanks for the congrats and I agree with you – the free guides should be a useful section. I have some more, nearly ready to publish amd will get them out asap.

I'm looking forward to these things that are "ready to publish". You must know a lot about motorcycles. :) May I ask, how long have you been into motorcycles, Gary? It would be great if you could publish a story about your life as a motorcyclist, dude.

Bryan – This might answer some of your questions.... http://garysusatour.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/how-and-why-did-you-get-into-motorbikes.html

Motorcycle events, adventures, books, guidelines, and even a contest. You’re gonna find all these in Gary’s site! Isn’t it awesome? Your website is full of good stuff about motorcycles. I’m sure enthusiasts would definitely enjoy visiting your site!
